Stephen Rae Morell

Stephen Rae Morell, age 79, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024. HIs family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 until 4:30 at the Lamar Chapel of Belk Funeral Home.

Steve was born in Sumter, SC on March 20, 1945 to his father Steve A. Morel. He worked as a car salesman for most of his life. During his free time, Steve enjoyed going out to auctions finding antiques, reading and listening to his heroes, Lewis Grizzard, Tom T. Hall and Charles Kuralt. He had a love for every dog he came across. Mr. Morell was apart of the Lutheran Faith.

Surviving Steve is his wife, Joann Edwards Morel, several nieces and nephews, and his two lifetime friends, Jimmy James and Pat Martin. He is also survived by his beloved terrier, BooBoo and his cats.

In addition to his father, Steve is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Morel, sister, Beverly Fisher and his aunt, Mildred G. Harris.
