Stan Bailey

Ralph Stanley Bailey, age 69, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024 at his residence. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6th in Belk Funeral Home from the times of 6:00pm until 8:00pm. A graveside service will take place in Philadelphia Southern Methodist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, August 7th at 11:00am.

Stan was born in Darlington on September 25, 1954, son of the late Ralph Harvey Bailey and Mary Sims Bailey. Stan worked at Nucor for 38 years as a crane operator until his retirement. He loved being out on the water fishing and always stayed busy, whether it was working in his yards to keep them presentable or tinkering and fixing things. Stan was an avid NASCAR fan and always enjoyed watching the races.

Surviving Stan is his loving wife of 49 years, Angela Dowling Bailey, his children, Stanley Jason Bailey and Joseph Ryan (Callie) Bailey, grandchildren, Kaleb Burbage, Kalie Burbage, Kyle Burbage, Nicholas Bailey, Anna Bailey, and Eva Bailey. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Rylee and Kylie Burbage and his mother-in-law, Mattie Stewart Dowling.

In addition to his parents, Stan is preceded in death by his daughter, Alicia Bailey Burbage, his brother, Danny Harvey Bailey, nephew, Daniel Bailey and his father-in-law, Daniel "Dan" E. Dowling.
