Sonia Mae Driggers Melton, beloved mother, and wife passed away on October 1, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on March 8, 1960, in South Carolina, Sonia lived a life rich with love, hard work, and cherished family connections.

A proud resident of Lamar, SC, Sonia devoted her career to the textile industry, serving as a supervisor at Craig Industries for 38 years. Known for her resolve and compassion, she led her team with grace and instilled a sense of pride in all she worked with.  Sonia loved to go fishing and was an animal lover at heart.

In addition to her mother,  Margaret Grantham, she is survived by her loving children: Donnie Ernest (Ashley)Melton, II, Victoria (Randall) Bird and Shaun Driggers Hepburn; and her beloved mother,.  Her grandchildren: Amber, Ashley, Sonia, and Donnie Melton, III; Maranda, Randall, Gabriel, and William Bird; Shae Thurston and Zan Chandler. Her great grandson John Allen Melton and another little one on the way. Her siblings: Teresa (John) Czuhajewski of Texas, Kathy Sheffield of Darlington, Wayne Grantham of Hartsville , Robert Driggers of Bennettsville, and Lisa (Dave) Perkins of Rock Hill.

Preceding her in death are her husbands: Allen Shealy and Ernest Melton, Sr. Her father Robert Driggers and her stepfather Billy Grantham, her brother Johnny Grantham and nephew Trent Grantham.

In this time of sorrow, we celebrate Sonia's life—her laughter, her unwavering support, and the love she freely gave. May she rest in peace, forever remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
