S.O. Robinson

Sylvester "S.O." O'Neal Robinson, age 83, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017. Funeral services will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, September 6th at Central Baptist Church in Darlington, with burial following in Brown Springs Cemetery in Patrick, SC, directed by Belk Funeral Home. Born December 17, 1933, S.O. was the son of the late Henry Robinson and Darky Coker Robinson. He served in the U.S. Army and served in Germany. He then worked for Vulcraft Steel, and then for the Darlington Police Department. S.O. was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and served as city police sergeant for 18 years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Darlington. Surviving are his daughters, Faye (Cliff) Cantey of Lake City, and Cindy (Ricky) Steen in Hartsville; his son, O'Neal Robinson of Patrick; his grandchildren, Tina Gainey, Mia Evans, Chip Williamson, Daniel Steen, Derrick Steen, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Chisholm Robinson; his siblings, Cloe Robinson, Mary Lou Watts, Carlyle Robinson, Dallas Robinson, and Herbert Robinson. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday, September 5th at Belk Funeral Home.
