Sherry (Weaver) Davis

Sherry Weaver Humphries Davis, age 86, of the Lake Swamp community, passed away peacefully at her son's home on Saturday, August 24, 2024. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:000 Tuesday evening at Belk Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 on Wednesday, August 28 in Lake Swamp Baptist Church with burial following in Odom Cemetery.

Sherry was born in Darlington on April 14, 1938, daughter of the late Marion and Clara Smith Weaver. She worked in the office at Dixie Cup for over 20 years, before moving to West Virginia with her late husband to answer God's call in the missionary field. When she was not actively supporting and working at church when her health allowed, she enjoyed working in her yards and doing word search puzzles. She was a member of Lake Swamp Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Robert Marion Humphries and his wife Tammy, John Michael Humphries and his wife Paula, three stepsons Jeff Davis and Dane (Pam) Davis both of Florence, and Sam (Liz) Davis of Winslow, Maine. Including many beloved grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; a sister, Janice (Douglas) Jordan of Winston-Salem, and special West Virginia friends, Julie and Dave Vincent.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Robert Duncan Humphries, Rev. Jerry Davis and a son, Charles Duncan Humphries.

The family will be at the home of her son, Robert Humphries, 409 Knotty Pine Rd., Darlington.
