Sherrill Jean Grooms Vincent, 75, went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, June 29, 2024. A funeral service will be held at First Church of God (620) N. Main Street, Darlington, on Tuesday, July 2, at 4:00pm. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time. A private burial will take place following the service. Sherrill was born in Lamar, SC on October 12, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Edwin Allen Grooms and Margaret Louise Watford Grooms. Sherrill was a loving wife, mother, Mimi and sister. Her family was the most important thing to her, especially her grandchildren that she loved dearly. Strong in her Christian faith, Sherrill was always willing to serve others in need. She was an amazing cook, housekeeper, decorator and kept an immaculate yard. She enjoyed sharing her talents with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Vincent, her son, Eddie(Terri) Odom of Lugoff, two grandchildren, Tanner and Helen Odom, siblings: Ed (Carol Ray) Grooms, Wayne Grooms, Pansy (Ray) Howell, Earl (Debra) Grooms, Deborah (Harden) Gainey, Jackie (Everett) Anderson and Gail (Randy) Courtney, many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her in-laws, Tommy Vincent and Rose Colvin. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles Grooms, and in-laws Wayne Vincent, Tammy Moody and Joyce Vincent. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
