Shelby Jean Lundy

Shelby Jean Gandy Lundy, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on February 25, 1957, in Florence County, South Carolina, Shelby was the daughter of the late "J.B." Junius Buddy Gandy and Lisa Weatherford Purvis Gandy.

Shelby married the love of her life, James E. Lundy, and together they had three daughters Robin, Jackie, and Toni. Tragically, James passed away on December 5, 1977, just nine months before Toni was born, leaving Shelby to raise their girls on her own. Despite this challenge, Shelby created a home filled with love, warmth, and laughter.

Shelby was known for her selflessness, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored. She had a heart of gold and a genuine gift for making everyone around her feel special.

Shelby is survived by her daughters Robin (Preston) Powell, Jackie (Randall) Eade, and Toni (Doug) Carter. Along with her grandchildren, Dustin Vanhoose, William Vanhoose III, Shania Vanhoose, Jacob Carter, and Kristen Carter.  Including her brother Billy Gandy.  She also leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband James E. Lundy, her sister Patsy Gandy Sheffield, and brother Jimmy Gandy.

Shelby will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life.
