Sheila Reeve Morrell

Sheila Reeve Morrell, age 74, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday, March 8th in the Lamar chapel at Belk Funeral Home with burial following at Lamar Cemetery. Born October 28, 1941 in Nottingham, England, Sheila is the daughter of the late Nancy Elliott and William Newton. She served in the Royal British Navy aboard the HMS Dauntress and during this time met her husband, Carroll, who was stationed in England in the United States Air Force. Sheila worked in administration for AQ Industries in Lynchburg until it closed, and then worked in purchasing for Schofield's in Florence until she retired. Sheila was an avid reader, loved to travel, and most enjoyed times when her family was together. She taught Sunday School for many years and attended church at Christian Pathways in Lamar. Surviving are her daughter, Beverly (Al) Hyman of Florence; her sons, Carl (Lorrann) Morrell of Jerome, ID, and Steven (Tammy) Morrell of Bennettsville; her grandchildren, Andy (Sara) Witherspoon, Savanna Witherspoon, Ashley (Sean) Stadelman, Ben Matthews, Nick Morrell, Will Morrell, Alan (Ashley) Hyman, Jennifer (Colin) Chalupa, and her great-grandchildren, Emma Stadelman, Braylon Stewart, and Tripp Hyman; her brother, John (Linda) Reeve of England, her sisters, Carolyn Vetzel of Simpsonville, and Susan (Brian) Burns of England. Preceded in death, in addition to her parents, is her loving husband of 46 years, Carroll Otis Morrell and her granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Morrell. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday at Belk Funeral Home Lamar chapel, and other times at her home, 1247 Via Ponticello #2 Florence, SC 29501.
