S.B. Weatherford

Samuel Benjamin "S.B" Weatherford, Jr. 84, died at his home Monday night, April 11, 2016. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, April 14th in Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. Born in Dillon County on January 18, 1932, he was the son of the late Samuel Benjamin and Isadore Drew Weatherford, Sr. Mr. Weatherford served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. S.B. worked hard all his life as a farmer and was a Mason for 60 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Marjorie Porter Weatherford, two daughters, Ann (Clyde) Gregg of Florence, Fay Weatherford Huggins of Darlington, two sons, Samuel B. "Buddy" (Teresa) Weatherford III, Glen (Beth) Weatherford of Darlington, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, a brother, Homer (Barbara) Weatherford of Darlington, sisters, Phila Weaver, Dot W. Pruitt both of Darlington, Jean (Dinky) Isgett of Pamplico, and a sister-in-law, Rachael Weatherford of Darlington. He was preceded in death by his brother, Don Weatherford. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the home, 1352 Samuel Benjamin Ave, Darlington.
