Ruth Purvis Forrest Nault

Ruth Broncie Purvis Forrest Nault, age 89 died Tuesday, June 14, 2022. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18th at Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.

Born on May 21, 1933, Ruth was the daughter of the late Erin Purvis and Lillian King Purvis and step-daughter of the late Anna DeWitt Purvis. Formerly from Darlington and Little River, SC and Indian Harbor Beach, Florida,  Ruth resided at The Manor in Florence where she had many friends and considered the caregivers her extended family.  She loved to travel and enjoyed going on cruises. Ruth was formally a member of Darlington First Baptist Church.

She was loved by her children, Joy Goodson of Darlington, Guy (Anne) Forrest, III of Shallotte, NC, and David (Betsy) Forrest of Elkhart, TX; grandchildren, Jamie (Jamie) Goodson of Columbia, Jill (Mike) Rogers of Darlington, Guy "Buddy" Forrest, IV of Charlotte, Jennifer Forrest of Rock Hill, John (Chelsie) Forrest of Elkhart, TX, Lyn (Scott) Ballard of Raleigh; 17 great-grandchildren; four step-children and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Guy Forrest, and her husband of 20 years, Richard Nault; brothers, Ben DeWitt and Buster DeWitt; and son-in-law, Jimmy Goodson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
