Ruby (Fields) Copeland

Ruby Fields Copeland, age 89, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home in Lamar on Tuesday, September 20. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 21 in Lamar United Methodist Church at 2:00pm, with burial following at Lamar Memorial Cemetery.

Ruby was born in Lee County on February 4, 1933. She is the daughter of the late Lewis H. Fields and Bertha Bell Fields. Ruby worked as a waitress at Country Catering for many years and enjoyed cooking, walking, and spending time with her family.

Ruby is survived by her children, Rose Stevens and David (Charlene) Copeland, grandchildren: Brandon Stevens, Rachel Stevens, Eric (Brooke) Grooms, Amy Grooms, Carly Copeland Effie "Emmy" Copeland, Shelby Copeland, great-grandchild, Chloe Stevens and Lynnsey Grooms.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death a daughter, Martha Grooms, son Berry Copeland, and two sisters, Mildred Howell and Frankie Lee.
