Roy G. Funderburk

Roy Gene Funderburk, age 62 passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021. A graveside memorial service for family and friends will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24th at Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. Please consider and observe all local regulations concerning the Covid-19 pandemic.

Born on December 10, 1958 in Darlington County, Roy was the son of the late William Hunter Funderburk and Mary Angallee Funderburk. He grew up in Society Hill and attended church at Welsh Neck Baptist Church. He attended public school in Cheraw, SC and was a graduate of Cheraw High School class of 1976. Roy had previously been employed by industries in the area and later resided in Darlington.

He is survived by his brother, William E. "Ernie" Funderburk; many grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Jeanette Funderburk and his sister, Emma Dean Coker.
