Roscoe Watford

Roscoe 'Junior' Watford, Jr., age 69, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 23rd in Mechanicsville Baptist Church, with burial following in Mechanicsville Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-7pm Thursday at Belk Funeral Home, Darlington. Born August 30, 1947, Roscoe is the son of the late Roscoe Jacob Watford, and Lula Mae Gainey Watford. He worked as a brick mason for several years. He enjoyed fishing, tending to his animals, and was always known for exaggerating his stories. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Lou Ann Taylor Watford; his children, Dane (Tonya) Watford of Florence, Jacinda (Tony) Nettles of Lamar, Noelle (Al) Merino of Fayetteville, NC, Roscoe (Jennifer) Watford III of Darlington, and Gabrielle (Jonathan) Carter of Darlington; 16 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Shirley Atkinson, Myrtle (Daiford) Hodge, Viola Oakley, Patsy Moody, Margaret Grier, Melvin (Norma Jean) Watford, and Billy (Kay) Watford. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Dane Christian Watford, and Serena Lula-Mae Nettles. Memorials may be made to Mechanicsville Baptist Church, 2364 Cashua Ferry Rd.
