Ronnie Smith

Ronnie Smith, age 72, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 11 in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2-3 Monday at the funeral home, and other times at 421 Arabian St. Darlington. Born April 16, 1946, Ronnie is the son of the late Harry E. Smith and the late Eula Inman Smith. He served in the U.S. Army. Ronnie was self-employed for Tri-State Metal Buildings; and then worked at Palmetto Ridge for 12 years. Ronnie took pride in his work. He lived life to the fullest; he enjoyed fishing, ride motorcycles, traveling, and his dogs. Ronnie loved being around people, and was known for having a great sense of humor. Surviving are his wife, Regina Smith of Patrick; children, Marcie (Joey) Blackwell, Linda Faye Lloyd, Jonathan Hunt, Samantha Hunt, and Brandon Hunt; grandchildren, Blake Blackwell, Brandon (Becca) Blackwell, Joel Blackwell, Zachary Blackwell, Ron Smith, Trey Lloyd, Ginger Lloyd, and Zayda Chavis; great-grandchildren, Bentley Blackwell and Brantley Blackwell. Also surviving are his step-mother, Brenda Smith; half-sisters, Faye Rogers and Rebecca (Jimmy) Oliver; half-brother, John Smith; several special cousins, nieces and nephews, and his best friends, Mickey and Barbara Roscoe. In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Smith; son, Wayne Smith; siblings, Ginger Atkinson, Mike Smith, Clara Mae Wilson, and Dorsey Kissner, and his mother-in-law, Joyce S. Locklear. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chesterfield County Humane Society; addressed to Belk Funeral Home, PO Box 523 Darlington, SC 29540.
