Ronald "Ron" Laverne Lee, age 67, passed away at McLeod Hospice House on Thursday, June 6, 2024. A visitation will be held from 2:00pm until 3:00pm in Belk Funeral Home on Monday, June 10th. A funeral service will take place in the chapel at 3:00pm immediately following the visitation, burial will follow the service in Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Kathy Lee at 3208 Timmonsville Hwy.
Ron was born in Timmonsville on November 7, 1956, he is the son of the late James Frank Lee and Ethel Friar Smith. He graduated from Darlington Academy and attended Florence Darlington Technical College. Ron worked with GE for 17 years before going to work with ESAB. Mr. Lee was a true outdoorsman, he always enjoyed hunting and fishing at Woodstone and Black Oak Hunting Club and especially taking his son Ryan fishing at their Papa Keith's Pond in Aynor. Some of Ron's favorite things to do were grilling out and smoking meat on his smoker.
He was active in multiple churches over the years including, Pine Grove United Methodist Church and Freedom Baptist Church where he was a member, Cornerstone Baptist, and most recently after his illness, Lake Swamp Baptist Church.
Surviving Ron is his wife of 32 years, Teresa Lambert Lee, son, James Ryan (Kayleigh) Lee, granddaughter, Ada James Lee, his sister, Kathy Sue Lee, nieces and nephew, Jamie (MeLissa) Streett, Ashlee Streett, and Ashton Grace Lambert. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and Ronald Jones, cousin, Scotty Jones, his in-laws Richie and Mar-C Lambert, special friends, Charles Hardee, Ralph Hughes, Charles Gibbs, and his feline companions, Tidbit, Dabo, and Rowdy.
