Robin Ray

Robin Yancy Ray of Lamar, 60, passed away Sunday, February 26th 2023 at home after a battle with cancer.  Family will receive friends Thursday, March 2nd from 5 to 7pm at her brother's home at 819 Botany Dr. in Florence, SC.  A memorial service will be held at Newman Swamp in Lamar on Friday, March 3rd at 1:00pm, burial will be immediately following at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Robin was born in Florence, SC, daughter of the late Leroy Yancy and Zelma Coker Yancey.  She used her love of animals and her artistic gifts to grow a successful dog grooming business in the area.  She was an exceptional artist who loved drawing and painting. Robin was a member of the Solid Rock United Pentecostal Church. She loved singing and worshipping with her church family and loved spending time with her family most of all.

Robin is survived by her husband, Darrell Ray, children; Karla(McIver) Sturgeon of Florence, Judy(Randy) Tingen of Florence, Chad(Dawn) Schroeder of Florence, grandchildren; Halie, Owen, Andrew, Sheila, Skylar, Malarie, Jaida, Julianne, Kara, Anthony, Kimberly, Kellie; brother Marvin(Janet) Wilson of Florence, sister Mary Stutts of Mooresville, NC, brother Mickey Eldridge of Mooresville ,NC, sister Melonie Williams of Mooresville, NC and numerous friends.

Robin was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather John Daniel Briggs and her stepmother Peggy Yancy.

Robin was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed and loved forever.
