Roberta Ann Sessoms

Roberta Ann Sessoms, age 59 died Monday, August 9, 2021. A graveside service will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 13th at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Florence, directed by Belk Funeral Home.

Born in Laurinburg, North Carolina on February 19, 1962, Ann is the daughter of Barbara Rhodes Herring and the late Douglas Sessoms. She worked as a waitress for several years. She loved camping and always enjoyed a good cup of coffee. Ann loved her family and helped raised many children, and was known as an optimistic person who always looked for the good in people.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Ronald Anthony "Tony" Strickland, Trudie Strickland (Sidney Dixon) and Erin Strickland, all of Hartsville; grandchildren, Jayden, Trenton, Christopher, Cameron, Caleb, Kelsey and Kylie McElveen, Carmin, Chanceston, Caylin, and two other grandchildren; a special niece, Stacey (Dustin) Griffin. Also surviving are her siblings, David (Rebecca) Sessoms, Mike (Lulu) Sessoms, both of Laurinburg, Kevin Sessoms of Darlington, Janet Sessoms of Washington State; and lots of extended family members whom she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron Stacey Gandy; and a grandchild, Kennedy.
