Robert 'Bobby' H. Byrd

Robert "Bobby" H. Byrd, Jr, age 75, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11th in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home, with burial following in Darlington Memory Gardens. Born July 5, 1942, Bobby is the son of the late Robert H. Byrd, Sr., and Corrie Privette Hill. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard, and was the owner and operator of Mobile Auto Supply for 34 years. Bobby enjoyed baking, collecting classic cars, looking for "quality merchandise" at yard sales, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. In his later years, Bobby enjoyed watching birds and squirrels in his yard, and checking on his neighbors. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Hartsville. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Brenda Davis Byrd of Hartsville; his daughters, Fran A. Byrd of Columbia and Amanda (Andy) Matthews of Florence; two grandchildren, Stokes and Piper Matthews; his sister, Faye (Gene) Bilton of Orangeburg. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert "Kevin" Byrd. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 10th at Belk Funeral Home.
