Ricky Allen Thomas

Ricky Allen Thomas, age 67, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina.

Ricky was born on July 12, 1957, in Darlington, South Carolina, to G.S. Thomas, Jr. and Mae Bell Boykin Thomas. He enjoyed a long career at Galey & Lord, where he was known for his strong work ethic and the close friendships he formed—especially with the Galey & Lord Hermies Group.

A true hot rod enthusiast, Ricky also found joy in fishing and listening to music. His easygoing nature, warm spirit, and love for family and friends made him a beloved presence in the lives of many.

He is survived by his nephew Tony and his wife Rebekah Thomas; their children Anthony, Elizabeth, Austin, Bridgette, Toni Ann, and Sam; and his great-grand nephews Mason and Asher. Ricky is also remembered fondly by a large extended family. Special thanks are given to his cousin Rene Stephens-Moody for her care and companionship, and to his dear friend Leroy Jackson for his lifelong friendship and support.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ernest Eugene "Sam" Thomas.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, May 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Belk Funeral Home in Darlington, South Carolina. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2, at 4:00 p.m. at Grove Hill Cemetery in Darlington, orchestrated by Belk Funeral Home.

Ricky's memory will be cherished forever by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
