Richard Michael Jones

Richard Michael Jones, age 61, passed away on Friday, January 6th, 2023, at his residence. A celebration of life will be held at his residence on Saturday 01/14/23 all day. Family and friends can gather at his home, 2229 Jones Rd Darlington, SC 29532.

Mike as he was known by everyone he encountered, was born on October 27th, 1961, in Darlington, SC to his late parents Richard Lewis Jones and Joyce Warren Williams. He worked at Adams Steel and most of his life as a painter and doing carpentry. He avidly enjoyed NASCAR racing, fishing, golfing, hunting, and camping. Even though he gave all his family and friends a hard time any chance he could get, he enjoyed spending time with them and listening to older rock music.

Mike is survived by his wife, Ginger Jones of Florence, SC, children Michael Wayne Jones of Florida, Heather Jones Plyler (Richard Plyler) of Mt. Croghan, Brandi Michelle Jones (Jereld Poole) of the home, and stepdaughter Jessica Nichole Elliott (Teddy Latour), of Florence, SC, Richard Lewis Jones (Eve McMillian), of Darlington, SC, grandchildren Sheldon Jones, Payton Jones, Josslyn Jones, Chole Jones, Marley Jones, and Charli Jones, Mackenzleigh Floyd(his peanut), Coletyn Floyd, Emersyn Floyd, and four step grandchildren, Cayden Oquendo, Siblings; Debi Jones, Christina Shaw, Ricky Shell, and Ellen Bethel, two Uncles, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special family members and friends, Craig, Ronnie, Tomcat, Everette, Charlie, Jackson, Morgan Huff and too many others to mention. Before his passing, Craig visited as he always did, Mike was able to go golfing for the first time in years and eat steak and lobster. He loved seafood!

Mike is preceded in death by both parents, a brother Christopher "Scooter" Jones, and granddaughter Aleigha Oquendo.
