Richard "Ricky" Allen Galloway, age 61, passed away peacefully at McLeod Hospice House surrounded by loved ones on Monday, June 17th, 2024. A visitation will be held in Philadelphia Southern Methodist Church from 10:00am until 11:00am on Thursday, June 20th. A funeral service will follow in the church at 11:00am, with burial taking place in the church cemetery.
Ricky was born in Darlington on July 4, 1962, he is the son of Faye Huggins and the late James "Jimmy" A. Galloway. Ricky was a member of Philadelphia Southern Methodist Church and a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Horticulture. He made his living as a farmer, but it was much more than a job to him. Ricky loved the land he farmed and took great pride in cultivating, planting and harvesting. His passion for the outdoors was shown not only in farming but was well known through his love of fishing at Santee and hunting. He was a true family man and made sure he took care of his family and those he loved.
Surviving Ricky is his mother, Faye Huggins Galloway, his soulmate, Angela Langston, sister, Cindy Galloway, uncle, Willie (Debbie) Galloway, aunt, Judy Galloway, "step grandchildren", Quinton and Kaitlyn Matthews and several cousins and extended family members
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made in honor of Ricky to the McLeod Foundation designated to McLeod Hospice House or the McLeod Cancer Center at PO Box 100551, Florence, SC 29501.
