Reese Otto Kirven, Jr.

Reese O. Kirven, Jr., age 88, passed away at his residence on Saturday May 10, 2025.  Mr. Kirven was born in Darlington, son of the late Reese Otto Kirven Sr. and Fannie Bell Holloway Kirven.

Reese started his professional career with Exxon and served in the National Guard during this time, then he became the owner/operator of Kirven Real Estate and Appraisal Company.  He was an outdoor enthusiast, always enjoying gardening and going fishing.  Mr. Kirven enjoyed cooking for people and a good cup of coffee.

He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah "Debbie" Ruthven Kirven, two children: Madison (Adam) Lane of Darlington, Derrik (Heather) Gainey of Myrtle Beach, grandchildren: Shane (Alana) Gainey, Mason (Caroline) Gainey, Blake Gainey, Demi Gainey and Samantha Odom and great grandchildren, Dayton and Salem, his siblings, Alvin Kirven of Darlington and Charles (Joyce) Kirven of Florence, along with sister in law Rae Kirven, and his canine companions of 17 years, Chloe and 10 years, Sophie.

He was preceded in death by  siblings, Joseph, Paul and Jack Kirven.
