R.D. Chandler

Robert Don "R.D." Chandler III, age 60, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at the McLeod Hospice House. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Mt. Elon Baptist Church in the Lydia Community with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday April 15 at Belk Funeral Home Lamar Chapel. R.D. was born in Florence County, son of the late Robert Don Chandler, II and Joyce Truett Chandler. He was employed by Wellman, Inc. for thirty years. He was a lifetime resident of Lamar, member of Lamar Station 14 Fire Department and Lamar Rescue Squad. He was an avid Silver Fox fan and loved motorcycles, the beach, trucks and dogs. R.D. was a member of Mt. Elon Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his mother of Lamar are his children, Jodi Chandler (Bubba) Cutchin of Bennettsville and Justin (Raven) Chandler of Lamar; his granddaughter, Ashlyn Cutchin "Scooterbug"; sister, Teresa C. (Timmy) Windham of Lamar and a host of brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. R.D. was preceded in death by his father; grandparents: Lucille Windham Chandler and Robert D. Chandler and his wife, Elaine Howell Chandler. Memorials are suggested to Lamar Rescue Squad, Donnie Stephens, Post Office Box 114, Lamar, South Carolina 29069.
