Raymond G. Schaffer, Jr.

Raymond "Ray" George Schaffer, Jr., age 69, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. A service will be held at a later date for Mr. Schaffer in his family cemetery in New York.

Ray was born in Warren, New Jersey on October 20, 1954, he is the son of the late Raymond George Schaffer and Dora Ann Abbott Schaffer. After finishing school Ray joined the Marines and served in Vietnam where he received the Purple Heart Medal for his heroic actions, he then joined the Army National Guard where he served as a chemical operations specialist. Ray worked as a contractor for many years after returning home from the service. He was a true outdoorsman and loved being a survivalist in nature, he also enjoyed being an artist and a potter. He was a member of the Freedom Baptist Family.

Surviving Ray is his wife, Vicky Mullen Schaffer, son, Adam Schaffer, step-children, Daniel (Brandie) Cox, Lyndsey (Dan) Fingler, Kalene (Brian) Lavocat, Briana (Andrew) Hovey, Robert Cox, Ericka (Isaiah) Keator, eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Wayne Schaffer, Wesley Schaffer, Michael Schaffer and Nancy Marino.
