Priscilla Sawyer

Sep 11, 1941 — Oct 27, 2026

Priscilla Marshall Sawyer, born September 11, 1941, in Hartsville, South Carolina, is the beloved daughter of the late Lavern Marshall and Grace Morrell Marshall.

She met the love of her life, Harry Lee Sawyer, while they were in high school. Their young love grew into a lifelong devotion, and they were married in 1960. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, friendship, and adventure. Harry preceded her in death on November 8, 2024, and she missed him dearly every day thereafter.

Priscilla devoted her working years to Dixie Cup, where she remained faithfully employed until her retirement. Beyond her career, she found joy in fellowship and fun. She was an enthusiastic bridge player, enjoying both her longtime ladies’ bridge club and lively couples’ games that included the gentlemen. She and Harry also shared a love for square dancing, making treasured memories on dance floors and with dear friends.

She had a true gift for nurturing beauty. Her yard and flower beds were always a reflection of her care — vibrant, immaculate, and lovingly tended. Working outdoors brought her peace and pride.

Priscilla and Harry shared a deep love of travel. With their cherished friends, Alan and Ginny DeFee, they journeyed to all 50 states as well as Mexico, Canada, and Hawaii. Alaska held a special place in her heart — so much so that she and Ginny returned together on a memorable girls’ trip to experience its beauty once more.

After Harry’s passing, Priscilla moved in with her devoted daughter and caregiver, Teresa Sawyer Blackwell, and her husband, Jeffrey E. Blackwell. Surrounded by family, she continued to be deeply loved and cared for.

She leaves behind her loving daughter, Teresa; her son, Johnathan L. Sawyer; her only granddaughter, Stephanie Sawyer, and her son, Jasper; and her grandsons Austin, Tristan, and Ashton Sawyer. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Chase Sawyer.

Priscilla loved life. She loved her husband wholeheartedly. Most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior and looked forward with faith to the day she would be reunited in heaven with those who had gone before her.

Her legacy is one of devotion, faith, friendship, beauty, and enduring love.
