Priscilla Inez Nance Cribb

August 8, 1945 — May 24, 2025

Darlington

Priscilla Inez Nance Cribb went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

Born on August 8, 1945 in the Mont Clare community within Darlington County as the youngest of six children, Priscilla was the cherished daughter of the late Val Buren Nance and Ruby Hewitt Nance. She grew up in a close-knit family and carried those deep family values with her throughout her life.

Priscilla married the love of her life, Cornie Rufus Cribb, Jr., and together they built a beautiful life centered around faith, love, and family. She had a special heart for young people, serving as a dedicated leader of youth activities including the Acteens at Black Creek Baptist Church, the youth at the First Baptist Church in Hampton, and mentoring high school students through the Anchor Club as part of her work with the Pilot Club in Darlington. Her commitment to service extended through many roles within her community—volunteering with church events, serving as an officer in the Pilot Club, and as treasurer for The Lord Cares.

An avid tennis player, Priscilla found joy on the court and was proud to be a state tennis champion in the mid-1990s. She also took great pride in her garden and yard, which brought beauty and nourishment to others. Priscilla worked alongside her family on the farm and found purpose in her professional life as well, serving as a bank teller, church secretary, and at Santee Cooper Electric. She was known by many for her warm smile and kind heart.

Priscilla is survived by her devoted husband, Cornie Rufus Cribb, Jr.; her daughter, Kimberley (Julian) McLennan of Darlington; her son, Alan (Melissa) Cribb of Spartanburg; and her beloved grandchildren: Lauren McLennan, Boyd (Emma) Cribb, Claire McLennan, and Rebecca Cribb. She was also blessed with a great-grandson, Henry Boyd Cribb. She is survived by her loving in-laws: Ann (Robbie) Nance Daniels; Bonnie (Edward) Cribb; and Carolyn and Jerry Cribb, and Jane (Sammy) Nance. Additionally, she leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended cousins who held dear places in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Angallee (Hunter) Funderburk and Polly (Johnny) Stokes; and her brothers, Robbie Nance, Sammy Nance of Darlington, and Val (Reta) Nance.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Priscilla's life during a visitation at Belk Funeral Home in Darlington on Friday, May 30th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held the following day, Saturday, May 31st, at 10:00am, at Black Creek Baptist Church in Darlington, with burial to follow at 2:30pm at Spring Branch Cemetery in Nichols, SC.
