Phillip R. Anderson

Darlington - Phillip R. Anderson, age 68, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 21st in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home, with burial following at Florence National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Born June 28, 1949, Phillip is the son of the late Albert Edward Anderson and Fammie Lenoir Tyner. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, worked for 20 years at Nucor, and then worked in construction. He was a very good pool player and he enjoyed the outdoors fishing and shooting guns. Phillip was known to have a heart of gold and always willing to help any and every one. He will be missed by many. Surviving are his daughters, Angela Lyons and Tonya "Tunkie" Suggs, both of Darlington; his grandchildren, Austin Lyons, Tyler Lyons, both of Tennessee, Sydney Dennis, Quinton Suggs, both of Darlington, Zach Devernay of Michigan, and a great-grandchild on the way; his siblings, Andy (Margo) Anderson, Linda (William) Weatherford, Frankie (the late Redmond) Kelly, and Ronnie Anderson, all of Darlington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice W. Anderson a brother Ralph M. ( Sissy)Anderson.
