Paul Peet Anderson

Paul Peet Anderson, age 88, of Darlington passed away after a short illness on June 26, 2023. A graveside service will be held at Oconee Memorial Garden on Saturday, July 1, at 11:00 a.m., followed by visitation with the family.

A native of Saluda, NC, he was born on May 7, 1935, to Edward Leroy Anderson and Sara Owen Anderson. He graduated from Tamassee D.A.R High School and from Clemson University with a degree in textile engineering. He worked in industrial management for 35 years, including serving as plant manager for three different companies in Oconee County—Chicopee Manufacturing, Avondale Mills, and the technologically advanced Johnson Controls plant start-up. He was a lifelong Baptist and an accomplished woodworker.

He was predeceased by his wife, Minta Catherine Pickens Anderson. He survived his four brothers, John, Edward, Eugene, and Phillip, and his three sisters, Mary Elizabeth, Christine, and Nancy.

He is survived by his four daughters, Cathy Anderson (Bob Finley), Libby Dickinson (Tom Dickinson), Barbara Anderson, and Carol Grooms (Larry Grooms), by his five grandsons, John Dickinson, Paul Dickinson, Taylor Grooms, Hayden Grooms, and Jack Grooms, and by great-grandchildren, Eliza Dickinson and Henry Grooms.
