Patricia Morrison Jones

Oct 8, 1942 — Jun 3, 2026

Darlington

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her love, we celebrate the life of Patricia “Patsy” Morrison Jones, who passed away on June 3, 2026 at the age of 83.

Patsy’s life was centered on the people she loved. She was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose legacy is the extended family she cherished. Over the years she gathered children and grandchildren not her own who found in her the same warmth, encouragement, and unconditional acceptance as her own family.

To all who knew her, she was never more than a phone call away.

While she adored the people in her life, those who knew Patsy often joked that the very best thing to be in her world was a dog. Every four-legged wandering soul that crossed her path was welcomed. Her family takes comfort in imagining that they were all waiting to greet her when she arrived.

Patsy was creative and talented. She enjoyed needlework, and ceramics, and was an exceptional seamstress. A lifelong reader, Patsy passed on her love of books to her family.

Perhaps Patsy’s greatest superpower was gift-giving. Christmas was her favorite season, but she never needed a holiday to surprise someone she loved. She delighted in finding the perfect present.

Patsy spent her later years enjoying life with Roy McKenzie, her beloved companion. They loved taking golf rides around the neighborhood, often accompanied by a dog. They spent years enjoying the fruits of his garden labors. Roy was a devoted and patient caretaker. It is difficult to express what his care meant to her longevity.

Patsy is survived by her companion, Roy McKenzie of Florence; a sister, Ann (Wayne) Mozingo of Bishopville; daughters Tressa (Phillip) Gardner of Darlington and Leslie (Darlene) Spencer of Chapin; granddaughters Cassie (Jason) Osteen of Gilbert and Kayla (Matt) Webber of Charleston; great grandchildren Jay, Scarlett, and Daniel Osteen, as well as Roy’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank E. Morrison, her mother, Myrtle Cross Morrison Stewart and stepfather, Hoyt Stewart, as well as her brother, Frank E. “Bubba” Morrison, Jr.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, June 19th at Belk Funeral Home Chapel, 229 W. Broad St., Darlington, SC. The family will receive guests at 1:00 with a service at 2:00.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Florence-Darlington Technical College Educational Foundation for scholarships, or to the local animal shelter or humane society of your choice.
