Ouida Lawan (Evans) Evans

Ouida Lawan Evans, age 74, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 4th at Darlington Memory Gardens, directed by Belk Funeral Home.

Born July 31, 1946, Lawan was the daughter of the late Carl Evans and Pauline Smith. She worked in the lab at Tuomey Hospital in Sumter for 49 years. Lawan enjoyed the outdoors, and hunting, fishing, traveling to the beach, and being out in her yard. She loved being around her family and remembered everyone's birthdays, and they always counted on receiving a card from her.

Surviving are her sister, Dreama Byrd of Florence; nieces and nephews, including Kyle Jernigan (Kathleen Ott) of Manning, Brent (Deborah) Jernigan of Mauldin, Dean Byrd of Florence, and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Jernigan; her nephew, Blain Jernigan; and her dog of 17 years, Precious, who went everywhere with her.
