Norton H James

Norton H. James, age 82, of Darlington, died Friday, May 17, 2019. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Monday, May 20 in Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the graveside service and other times at 216 Green Drive, Darlington. Born in Horry County in 1937, Mr. James was the son of the late Joseph Richard James and the late Jewell Hucks James. He retired from Merita Bread Company/American Bakeries and was an avid Clemson football fan. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Annie Lou Weinberg James, a son, Scott James (Pam Nesselhauf), his siblings, Dotty (Buddy) Rogers of Darlington, Bobby James of Darlington, Loretta (Ted) Leonard of Hayes, VA and Patricia Jones of Darlington. He was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Dudley James, and siblings Parmalee James, Richard James, Lavinia Page, Orville James and Huxley James.
