Norma Buck Gunter, went home to be with her Lord and Savior early in the morning on Thursday, July 10, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 on Sunday, July 13th at First Original Free Will Baptist Church in Darlington. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 on Sunday at the church and other times at her daughter's home, 406 Cashua Street ,
Norma was born on February 4, 1940 in Darlington, daughter of the late Willie and Myrtle Blackman Buck. She worked at NYTRONICS for a few years before going to work at Kiddie Land Kindergarten. After working with children for many years, her last job was in the Auditor's office at Darlington Courthouse. Norma loved her church and was the happiest when she was there playing the piano or singing or doing both! Mrs. Gunter taught the women's Sunday School Class at First Original Free Will Baptist Church for over 50 years. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was an avid reader of the Bible. Her hobbies included doing word search and cross word puzzles.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachel (Ricky) Langley , her grandson, Scott Smith, her brother, Seldon (Pam) Buck, nephew, Michael Buck, niece, Heather Buck and a step-daughter, Leigh Gunter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Gunter and siblings: Bill, Gene, Bobbie, Aleen and Jerry.
The family expresses their gratitude to The Pines and Traditions Hospice for their love and care of Norma.
