Nivia (Sturkie) Kirby

Nivia Sturkie Kirby, age 82, died Saturday, February 6, 2021 in a local hospital.  A graveside service will be held at 3:00 Tuesday, February 9 in Berea Cemetery (intersection of Philadelphia Street and Mt. Berea Road), directed by Belk Funeral Home. Born in Florence on August 17, 1938, Nivia was the daughter of the late Lucius Charles Sturkie and the late Melba Rish Sturkie.  She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, who also operated Dianne's Country Sausage. She was of the Holiness faith. She is survived by her husband, Fred Kirby, daughters and sons-in-law: Kathy and Brian Riffe, Beverly and Norman Haynes; grandchildren: Dustin, Justin and Tommy Riffe and Ashton Haynes, and her brother, Junior Sturkie. She was preceded in death by her brothers, O'Neal, Norman and Kenny Sturkie.
