Born on April 3, 1947, in Darlington County, Nancy was the daughter of the late James Leroy Dees and Mary Grace Helms Dees. As a medical transcriber at Carolinas Hospital, she was known for her dedication and precision, reflecting her deep commitment to the healthcare profession.
Outside of work, Nancy cherished life's simple joys. She loved spending time outdoors, particularly taking leisurely walks with her beloved dog, Boosie. She had a passion for puzzles—both crossword and jigsaw—always enjoying the challenge they provided. A fan of Frappuccinos and donuts, Nancy often shared these treats with her loved ones, spreading happiness with every gesture. She also took great pride in maintaining her yard, where she found peace in cleaning and burning yard debris.
Nancy is survived by her two sons, Patrick Sean Johnson (Renee Gainey) and John "Stacy" Johnson (DeeDee Newsome), her four grandchildren: Tori, Austin, Paige, and Payne Johnson (Jonathan Blake), eight great-grandchildren, and her sisters: Mary Patricia D. Steen, Barbara Ann D. James, Jane (Bert) Leroy D. Hendrix, and Betty Regina D. Dill.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James Michael Dees.
