Monice R. Willis, 75 , passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on September 19th, 1949, in Camden, South Carolina, to Hazel Reid Reynolds and Donnelle Faye Reynolds.
Monice dedicated her career to healthcare, beginning as an office manager at Wilson Hospital. She later joined Richmond Internal Medicine, and ultimately served as Vice President of Oncology in Jacksonville, where she left a lasting mark through her leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to others.
Monice met the love of her life, Randall "Randy" Willis, with whom she shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love, raising a family and creating memories that will live on for generations.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Randy, and their two sons: John Willis of St. Augustine, Florida, and Bryan (Michelle) Willis of Hamlet, North Carolina. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Brittany Willis, Kaci Willis, Bryant Willis, and Winston (Kayla) Coleman, and great-grandmother to Naomi, Everlee, Knoxx, Nash, and Hagen, also surviving is her sister Tina Marie Reynolds and many extended family members.
Monice had a creative spirit and a giving heart. She enjoyed making jewelry, a hobby that reflected her attention to detail. She was a former member of Mandarin Christian Church (now known as Mandarin Church of Christ) in Jacksonville, Florida. She was also deeply devoted to her faith and especially loved teaching children's Bible school at South Side Free Will Baptist Church, where she touched many young lives with warmth, patience, and joy.
Though Monice was always dressed to the nines with her perfectly manicured hands, she wasn't afraid to roll up her sleeves. Whether it was helping Randy with a project or lending a hand wherever it was needed, she did so with grace, grit, and a smile. That blend of elegance and strength was a hallmark of who she was.
Above all, Monice was devoted to her family. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Meme" — a name filled with love, laughter, and memories that will never fade.
Monice was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel Reid Reynolds and Donnelle Faye Reynolds, and her brother Jimmy Reid Reynolds.
