Miriam Lee Rushing

Miriam Lee Rushing, age 80 passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Lexington Hospital in Lexington, SC after a short illness. A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, November 2nd in Grove Hill Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home. Born October 31, 1935 in Timmonsville, SC; Miriam was the daughter of the late Willie Lee and Ethel Lloyd Lee. She graduated from Bonaire/Elim High School. Miriam was a wonderful mother and loving wife devoted full-time to her family, working briefly at Southern Bell Telephone Company and Clanton's Auto Sales. She loved the outdoors, all animals, and spending time with her neighbors. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Darlington. Miriam was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Robert "Bobby" William Rushing. Surviving are her daughter, Wanda Rushing (Barry) Jones of Columbia, SC, and her son, Robert W. (Rick) Rushing, Jr. of Florence, SC. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Clara Dorriety, Alma Cusaac, Lila DeFee, Louise Cox, and Willie Mae Pierce.
