Michael “Mike” Curtis Sullivan, 72, passed away on December 6, 2025. Arrangements are being handled by Belk Funeral Home and will be announced at a later date.
Mike was born on February 21, 1953, in Florence, South Carolina, to William Curtis Sullivan and Osie Lee Carnes Sullivan and was raised in Darlington. He always worked in the grocery business and dedicated 29 years of service to the IGA grocery store in Timmonsville, where he was known for his hard work and friendly spirit.
Mike was a devoted reader, especially of his Bible. He was a longtime member of Epworth United Methodist Church and later attended Christian Assembly until his illness. A passionate sports fan, Mike proudly supported the Dallas Cowboys, the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Atlanta Braves, and Duke basketball—rarely ever missing watching a game. He also loved NASCAR, cheering faithfully for his favorite drivers, which were Cale Yarborough and Dale Earnhardt.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lori Sullivan, with whom he was married for 40 years. Their children, Sydney H. Sullivan of Charleston, Brittany Lee Sullivan of Florence, and Brody Michael Sullivan of Florence; and his cherished grandchildren, Tyler Marie Sullivan, A.J. Sullivan, John Lively, and Emily Lively. He is also survived by his sister Judy Stokes of Darlington; sisters-in-law Ruby Sullivan and Sherri Yerkey; and brother-in-law Richard Yerkey.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Ricky Sullivan; his sister Patricia S. Jackson and her husband William Ervin Jackson, sister Jackie S. Combess, and brother-in-law Leon Stokes.
Mike will be remembered for his faith, his loyalty to the teams he loved, his dedication to his work, and the deep love he held for his family. His kindness and steady presence will be greatly missed.
**In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Mike's honor to Epworth United Methodist Church at 706 Pearl Street, Darlington, SC 29532 or online at www.umc.org**
