Michael Sean Bowley

June 10, 1967 — February 13, 2025

Lamar

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Sean Bowley, 57, who left this world peacefully on February 13, 2025, in Lamar, SC where he and his sister, Whitney had made a happy home for the past few years. He was born on June 10, 1967, in Exeter, NH, but grew up in Conway, NH. Michael was the beloved son of Michael Bowley and Faye Jaeger.

A skilled painter by trade, Michael found his calling in the construction industry, dedicating many years of his life to Bruce Frechette Painting. Throughout his career, he formed lasting friendships, including a special bond with his employer, Bruce, as well as his co-workers and best friends, Tim Purington and Jack Hackley (The Dream Team!)

Michael was not only known for his painting skills, but also for his wicked sense of humor. In his younger days, he found great joy in fishing with Michael Merrill and other good friends. Among his fond memories was a time when he experienced a fortunate windfall, hitting a two-million-dollar payout on a scratch-off ticket—a moment he savored wholeheartedly. He never had any regrets about spending a dime of it; and graciously shared it with those around him. When he won, everyone won.

Michael leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his life-long friend and ex-wife, Barbara, and their daughters, Sarah (Matthew) Tower, Ashley Bowley, and Madison Bowley, along with his treasured grandchildren: Jocelyn, Scarlett, Ensley, Briggs, Hayden, and Wyatt. He is also survived by his sisters, Michelle Bowley, Whitney Bowley and his nephews Josh and Jed, and Meghann Rice, and his niece Rachel, who will forever remember him as a loving brother, friend, and Uncle.

Preceding him in death were his father, Michael Bowley, and his mother, Faye Jaeger, who now embrace him in peace.

A private service to celebrate Michael's life will be held in the future, where family and friends will gather to reflect on the beautiful moments shared and the love he brought into their lives.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist the family with final expenses, care of Belk Funeral Home, PO Box 523, Darlington, SC 29540.

May Michael's spirit of joy and kindness continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
