Melissa Bush Edwards

Melissa Bush Edwards, age 57, passed away at her home on Thursday, October 19, 2023.  A memorial service will take place Wednesday, October 25, 2023 in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel.

Melissa was born in Charleston on August 25, 1966, daughter of the late George and Helen Frey Bush. Melissa taught in the Darlington area schools, Cytotechnologist with Pee Dee Pathology and served on the South Carolina Disability and Special Needs Board. She enjoyed the outdoors and was gifted at making jewelry.

Melissa is survived by her husband, Frank Pat Edwards, III; daughter, Brittany Elizabeth Welch; a step-daughter, Alexis Edwards Hoffman; grandchildren, Delilah, Avery, and Aria Edwards; brother, Josh (Amber) Bush; sister, Wendy Bush McKenzie, mother-in-law, Mary Margaret Edwards, sister-in-law, Susan Edwards (Mike) Quarles.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Bush.
