Maurice A. Pipkin

Maurice A. Pipkin, age 75 passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016. A memorial service will be held 4:00pm Wednesday, July 13th in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3-4pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Born in Darlington, SC, Maurice was the son of the late Coke Joseph Pipkin and Lucille Segars Pipkin. Maurice served in the U.S. Air Force as an aviation mechanic for eight years and with the NC Air National Guard as a flight engineer for three years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for fifty years and a lifetime member of the VFW. Maurice retired from the Florence DuPont plant after over 32 years. Surviving are his wife, Jane "Janie" Pipkin; his children, Bryan (Jasmine) Pipkin of Darlington, Chris Vardaman of Selma, AL, Phil (Jackie) Tomberlin, and Terri (Wen) Tomberlin-Falana of Darlington; seven grandchildren; his brothers, Chesley Coke Pipkin of Darlington, and Wayne Marshall (Peggy) Pipkin of Florence. Also special friends, Ed James, Bill Foster, James Branham, Jimmy Dudley, Buddy Brown, and Zim Brooks who have always been willing to help with any repairs. Maurice was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Henry Pipkin, John E. Pipkin, and his sister, DeEtte Blackman.
