Mary Emily Flowers Kirven, age 90 passed away Monday, July 11, 2016. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, July 16th at Black Creek Baptist Church with burial following in Black Creek Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Saturday in the fellowship hall at the church.
Born August 25, 1925, Mary was the daughter of the late George Flowers and Ulaela Springs Flowers. She was a graduate of St. John's High School and Winthrop College. Mary was an active member of Black Creek Baptist Church, Kalmia Garden Club and The Alzheimers Support Group. She was a devoted Wife and Mother who was known for her humor, sincerity, and love of The Lord. Mary had a vast appreciation for nature and loved all things great and small. She was a true friend and will be missed by many.
Surviving are her brother Frank Flowers, son Wilson Kirven of Beaufort, daughters Spring Boan of Timmonsville and Emily Morton. She also leaves five Grandchildren, five great-Grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her Husband of 60 years Hal Kirven, brother Paul Flowers, her sister Georgia Flowers and her beloved sisters-in-law Margaret Flowers and Pauline Flowers.
