Marjorie (Porter) Weatherford

January 6, 1934 — September 29, 2025

Marjorie Weatherford, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and devoted homemaker, left this world peacefully on September 29, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on January 6, 1934, in Arnette, Oklahoma, Marjorie devoted her life to her family, living a life that exemplified love, hard work, and perseverance.

Throughout her years, Marjorie embraced her role as a housewife with unmatched dedication, epitomizing the spirit of a farmer's wife. She nurtured not only her four children—Fay ( Jerry Lee) Weatherford, Ann (Clyde) Gregg, "Buddy" (Teresa) Weatherford, and Glen (Beth) Weatherford—but also her garden, where she delighted in tending to her favorite flowers, the shrimp plant and Gerber daisies. Her passion for yard work was not just a hobby; it was a reflection of her nurturing heart and love for beauty in everyday life.

In addition to her children, Marjorie is survived by her nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, also her brother William Porter

A graveside service will be held in her honor at Grove Hill Cemetery on October 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her remarkable life and bid their final farewells. Marjorie will be laid to rest, surrounded by the beauty she cherished in life, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication that will forever resonate in the hearts of her family.

In recognition of her unwavering support for her country, we also remember Marjorie's service in the U.S. Air Force, a testament to her strength and commitment.

As we prepare to say goodbye, let us remember Marjorie Weatherford not only for her tireless work and commitment to her family but for the joy she brought into the lives of everyone she encountered. The world was a brighter place with her in it, and she will be dearly missed.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Samuel "S.B." Weatherford Jr. and parents,  Zula McCullough Porter and Earl Porter.

Memorials may be made to Southside Free Will Baptist Church, where she attended for many years, PO Box 5, Darlington SC 29540.
