Annette Byrd

Margaret Annette Snipes Byrd, 77, passed away on Friday, June 19th, 2026. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 24th, at 6-8pm at Belk Funeral Home Chapel, a memorial service will be held on Thursday June 25, at 7pm at Calvary Baptist Church in the Chapel,915 Cherokee Rd, Florence, SC 29501.

Annette was born February 21st, 1949, in Hartsville, SC, to the late Edward “Buck” and Grace Flowers Snipes. She worked for the state of South Carolina in the Employment Security Commission. Annette loved shopping, laying in the sun, decorating her house, and always kept up with the latest fashion and trends.

Annette also enjoyed attending Sunday school where she made good friends. She also liked to attend Church serves one of her favorite hymns that she would like to hear the most was The Old Rugged Cross.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years; Lee Odell Byrd, son; Christopher Lee Byrd, grandsons; Brendan Byrd, Thomas Byrd, daughter; Crystel Byrd, great-grandchild; Mica Outz, sisters; Irene Smith (Ray) and Dorothy Dewitt, and many nieces and nephews.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents; Edward “Buck” and Grace Flowers Snipes, and grandson; Jonah Byrd.
