Manda Ella (Amerson) Watford

Manda Ella Amerson Watford, age 88, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023. A visitation will take place in Belk Funeral Home Lamar on Wednesday, April 19 from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. A funeral service will follow the visitation in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home Lamar at 3:00pm, with burial following the service at Lamar Cemetery.

Manda was born in Lamar on February 6, 1935 to the late Sligh and Bertha Ham Amerson. She worked at Sonoco for many years as a secretary. Manda loved to cook and always enjoyed playing Bingo. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandson, William "Will" Davis.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela (Ricky) Davis of Lamar, grandson, William "Will" Davis of Lamar, sister, Dr. Eunice Rowell of Greenwood. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly and her canine friend, Ranger.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carol Watford, sisters, Dr. Ruby Matthews and Mattie Lee Davis, and a brother, Curtis Amerson.
