Madelyn Sandra Hendricks

Madelyn Sandra "Sandy" Hendricks, age 74, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 7 at Christian Pathway Church, with burial following in Newman Swamp Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Belk Funeral Home in Lamar, and other times at the home. Born March 20, 1944, Sandy is the daughter of the late A.L. "Cy" Howell and the late Nora Emma Odom Howell. She worked at Lamar Hosiery. She enjoyed talking to people. Sandy was a talented singer and enjoyed singing at nursing homes and had a special place in her heart for "old people". Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Dwight H. Hendricks, Jr.; son, Dwight "Sambo" (Ginger) Hendricks, III, both of Lamar; grandchildren, Christopher (Anna) McKagen and Lee McKagen; sister, Linda (Denny) Kellenbenz of Bishopville; her special friend and caregiver, Thomasina George. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Owen McKagen, and a nephew, Dave. Memorials may be made to Embrace Hospice, Open Arms Foundation, Inc.
