Frances Lynnette Mobley Moody, age 77, passed away at the McLeod Hospice House on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024 after a long battle with dementia. Lynnette was born on January 6, 1947 in Dillon, SC, daughter of the late Cade Sherwood Mobley and the late Allene Jones Mobley. After graduating from Pembroke State College, she became a teacher. She and her husband, Billy, moved to Darlington in 1983 from North Augusta, SC where she continued to work as third grade teacher. Mrs. Moody had a passion for teaching those who had difficulties learning. The drive behind her passion and dedication for teaching was she didn't want a child to struggle with academics the same way she did during her early education. She loved to laugh and tried to find the humor in any situation. Her vivacious spirt was contagious when you were in her presence. Lynnette never met a stranger and was cherished by so many. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and singing along to beach music.
Mrs. Moody was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Darlington.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, William B. "Billy" Moody, daughter Page Moody (Justin) Banks, step-grandchildren, Jaylen, McCartney and Harrison, sisters, Betty Sherwood Mobly Lee and Laura Ann Mobley Joseph and pets, Calvin the cat and Ellie the dog.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made in her Honor to Trent Hill Center for Children and Families, 522 W. Bobo Newsome Hwy, Hartsville, SC 29550or Darlington County Humane Society, PO Box1655, Hartsville, SC 29551
