Leona Hodge

Leona Hodge, age 72, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 on Tuesday, August 1, in Newman Swamp United Methodist Church, with burial following in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday at Belk Funeral Home in Lamar.

Born in Darlington County on June 6, 1951, she is the daughter of the late Hughey and Edna Bell Hodge. Leona worked as a secretary for many years, working for Andrews Building Supply in Lamar, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and most recently, House of Hope of the Pee Dee. She always enjoyed reading and being around people. Leona was an active member of Newman Swamp United Methodist Church.

She is survived by many cousins, including a special cousin and caregiver, Catherine Ray (Jim) Gaul of Lamar.
