Larry Spivey

William Lawrence "Larry" Spivey, age 71, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 6th in Belk Funeral Home from the times of 4:00pm until 6:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 7th in Central Baptist Church in Darlington at 11:00am, with burial taking place in Grove Hill Cemetery immediately following the service.

Larry was born in Florence on July 13, 1953 to the late C. D. Spivey and Shirley Ann O. Spivey Griggs, after his mother's marriage to the late Bucky Griggs, he was like a father to Larry. Larry worked with Nucor Steel for many years until his retirement. He loved being out in nature fishing, watching NASCAR and was an avid Clemson Tigers fan. He was a member of Central Baptist Church Darlington.

Surviving Larry is his son, Brent (Kristina) Spivey of Fletcher, NC, his grandchildren, Kennedy and Wyatt Spivey, uncle, Ronald Oliver, stepmother, Barbara Griggs, sister, Brandy (Erik) Seiffert and their son, Landen, brother, Chad (Sherry) White and their two daughters, Bonnie and Caroline. He is also survived by his lifelong friends, Robert Garland and Joey Saleeby.
