Larry Oldern Keith

Larry Oldern Keith, age 66 died Saturday, November 13, 2021. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cheraw Branch. Belk Funeral Home in Darlington is assisting the family during this time.

Born on December 13, 1954, Larry is the son of Betty Braddock Keith and the late Luther Oldern Keith. He attended Francis Marion University, and then worked at Galey & Lord for 33 years; and later as the grocery manager for Walmart in Florence and then Cheraw until his retirement. Larry enjoyed playing cards, watching TV and westerns, and was a huge Star Trek fan. He enjoyed riding around the community talking about the history of Society Hill. Larry had a gently heart and loved talking to people and helping people. Larry was a member of the of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and  held the office of an Elder.

In addition to his mother, Betty Braddock Keith, Larry is survived by his wife, Tammy Chapman Keith; his children, Cody Trenton Chapman and Dawn (Jamie) Hunsucker; grandchildren, Justin and Evan; two great-grandchildren; brother, Mike (Teresa) Keith of Florence; three sisters, Alice (Evans) Williams of McColl, Dianne (Danny) Moore of Florence, Lana Keith of Society Hill; and two special nieces who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Oldern Keith; and a son, Justin Mark Byrd.
