Katherine (Hill) Amerson

Sarah "Katherine" Amerson, 88, of Lamar passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. She was born February 26, 1932 to the late James Coit and Myrtle DuBose Hill. She was a lifelong resident of Lamar, SC and of the Christian Faith. Katherine was a member of Lamar Baptist Church. She graduated from Lamar High School and retired at age 62 from Kmart.

Survivors include her daughters Norma Jean Stone of Florence, Pat (Dave) Thompson of Florence; son James (Susan) Hudson of Ringgold, GA; Five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and Two great-great-grandchildren. Katherine was preceded in death by her loving husband, James C. Amerson; sister Mary Lena Tallon; brother, James Benjamin Hill; and parents James Coit and Myrtle Hill.

Graveside Services will be at Lamar Cemetery on Saturday, February 6th, 2021 at 2pm with Reverend Adrian Allen officiating. Arrangements by Belk Funeral Home in Darlington, SC.
